Introduction to Information Technology (9th or 10th grade)- Both the Cisco Networking Academy and the Oracle Database Programming Academy begin with the Intro to IT course. The Introduction to Information Technology course teaches students the basics of hardware & software computer repair. The course curriculum prepares students to take the A+ CompTIA hardware and software certifications. After becoming a licensed compute repair technician this certification will allow students to become more marketable in the IT workforce.
The Oracle Academy(10-12th grade) trains students to become database designers/administrators who are the key holders to all of the information that a company stores. The Oracle Academy teaches students two important programming languages that are vital to every company in the world that wishes to build or maintain a corporate website that links to an online “real-time” database. The two programming languages are SQL and JAVA. At the end of each course students should take the Introduction to Oracle – SQL exam and the Academy JAVA and APCS Exam, each of which provide a professional programming language certification. Curriculum delivery and testing occur in a completely online environment prepared by Oracle and the instructor. Honors and AP credit are offered for these courses. Students passing the AP exam will receive one year of college credit.
